In 2008 the Center Planning Committee was born from a dream for a better tomorrow in Shasta County. We stand as a beacon for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals in Northern California and offer a safe place for the LGBTQ+ community to organize in an effort to secure equal rights.
In 2009 NorCal OUTreach Project started working towards improving our community through various events including Prop 8 rallies, Pride celebrations, National Coming Out Day events, supporting our local World Aids Day memorial service, and many other involvements to help promote diversity & equality within our community.
We are moving forward in 2015 with support groups, social activities, new community partnerships, securing a local LGBTQ+ Center and building our community. Our vision for the future is an LGBTQ+ community united by a common purpose celebrating our history, culture and diversity while ensuring that no one is left behind.
NCOP is a non-profit organization located in Redding, California aimed with the vision for a more diverse and globally accepting community. We have developed a variety of allies & partnerships within Northern California to help serve the needs of the LGBTQ+ community.
Our organization provides support groups, community services, and LGBTQ+ events to the community of Shasta County. We pride ourselves on local outreach in order to ensure a safer, more knowledgeable and accepting community. The safety and well-being of every individual is paramount and this success starts with an organization dedicated to serving the entire community through education and the promotion of equality. We are this organization.
We pride ourselves on providing services free of charge. Currently, our efforts are funded 100% by fundraising events and community donors. We would like to thank our volunteers for committing their time to make this dream a reality.
